Abstract

This paper examines the cognitive and neural mechanisms by which rhythm and groove in music may support motor rehabilitation in Parkinson's disease. Drawing on neural entrainment theory, the authors propose that the rhythmic qualities of music — particularly groove — engage motor-planning circuits in ways that compensate for dopaminergic deficits, offering a theoretical foundation for dance-based and rhythm-based interventions in Parkinson's disease.
