Edward Large, Ph.D.

Founder & CEO

Dr . Ed Large has devoted more than 30 years to the study of how music entrains—or synchronizes—brain rhythms. A global thought leader in the psychology and neuroscience of music, Ed has pioneered an approach to understanding how music affects the brain, combining neural networks, nonlinear dynamics, neuroscience, and experimental psychology.

Ji Chul Kim, Ph.D.

Co-Founder & CSO

Ji Chul Kim studied physics and music theory at Seoul National University in South Korea and obtained a PhD degree in music theory and cognition at Northwestern University. He joined the Music Dynamics Laboratory in 2011 as a postdoctoral fellow, where he continues working with Dr. Edward Large as an assistant research professor.

Psyche Loui, Ph.D.

Scientific Advisor

Dr . Psyche Loui studies the neuroscience of music, probing pitch perception, singing, tone-deafness, music disorders and emotional impact of music. She focusses on questions such as: What happens in the brain when we create music? What gives some people a chill when they are moved by mvvusic?

Kim is an experienced senior executive having held leadership roles in three publicly traded companies, two private equity backed companies and two venture backed start-ups. In addition, she founded her own consulting company and is a non-profit company board director.

Steve Smith

CFO

Steve Smith is an accomplished financial executive and entrepreneur with an extensive history in driving corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, and capital formation. In all his endeavors, Steve has played an instrumental role in both the procurement of debt facilities, and leading negotiations with target companies for acquisition.
